Gloria's report, with Lyn's pictures..........
Our first joint exhibition of quilts, embroideries, textiles and local crafts was held at Temple Sowerby Village Hall on September 15th and 16th.
A display of stunning quilts, intricate embroideries, Christmas ideas, cushions and local children's craft work filled the hall.
We organised two workshops and demonstrated crewel embroidery and sashiko quilting during the weekend.
A children's charity quilt was started and the hundred Japanese squares needed will be completed at Threlkeld Village Hall on 20th,21st and 22nd of October.
The catering was excellent and the whole effort was very friendly and helpful. Monies raised were for the hall and the Young Quilters.
I will add the names of the creators of this work as soon as I get them!
Our exhibitions are usually once every two years. This year, however , there are three!
The third one will be at Threlkeld Village Hall, 20th,21st, 22nd of October, when there will be a different selection of work.See the poster below.
We'd love to see you there!
