Knitting and Stitching Show 2013

Harrogate 2013

Well, it's taken a while, but here at last are some views of this year's Knitting and Stitching Show in Harrogate. Several members went, though not altogether!

I was there on Thursday, when, for the first time they had a late opening .(The show was actually open until 7pm!) I didn't last quite that long, from 10am, but enjoyed the quieter time when the coaches had gone, taking the crowds with them!

It was a good show, with plenty to see. Our chairman, Val Osborn was there, of course, with the 'Timeline of crewelwork', and the hanging she has worked on with Phillippa Turnbull. (see Stitch magazine, October)

One of the aspects I really appreciated this year were those textile artists who were generous with their time, and also happy for their work to be photographed.

I loved   Mandy Patullo's approach to recycling, patchwork, quilting, applique(above)

Japanese connections.....six Japanese and six British textile artists creating a new body of work.
Included dyeing, weaving ,collage, embroidery . Beautiful.

Just a few  images of the show. As always, too much to show!
